Sanitation program in Valsad under Swachchh Bharat Mission by our organization, the best model program in Gujarat, was inaugurated by Smt. Anandiben Patel, the Hon. Former Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Our NGO is active since 2003. We have constructed almost 65,000 to 70,000 toilets in in rural and urban area of Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Dahod, Navsari, Ahmedabad, Dehgam, Patan, Bhuj, Okha, Vyara, Kalol, Balva, Prantij, Dhangadhra, Oad, Mahudha, sabarkantha, Surendranagar, Anand, Surat, Valsad, Kheda Gandhinagar districts and municipalities and also conducted cleanliness awareness programmes under Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan. These awareness programmes have been conducted in participation with SHG groups and people are educated about the usefulness of toilets for health and cleanliness. People encouraged to use toilets so that Swachchh Bharat Mission become successful. Toilet have been constructed at subsidised rate for the people who cannot afford to construct one by their own.
Toilets have proved to be boon for the women who could not go for toilet during the day time due to shame and ill, old, and handicapped persons for their immediate need for them.
- The quantum of garbage in rural areas has decreased. Due to excretion in open space people may suffer by many diseases such as dysentery, typhoid, fever etc. So toilets have proved effective against these disease.
- To evolve a system dependent of the solid and liquid wastage and people in rural areas are encouraged to participate in cleanliness drive by Street Dramas, Bhavai, and Rally’s.
